My Experience About Mount Merapi

It's my experience on Friday when Mount Merapi erupted. On Thursday afternoon it was raining ash, at first I did not worry, it's already happen several times. On Thursday night, I felt something would happen. I could not sleep at night. Earthquake felt a few times, like my bed shaken. The roar sounded all night. The sound of small stones falling be heard clearly.

Around 1 pm my mom told me that we had to evacuate to a safer place. 2 hours we prepared ourselves. Early morning we headed to Wates. There we stayed at my auntthe house, over 4 days we continue to monitor the situation through the tv. After the situation became more secure we returned to Sleman. During the 3 days after the occurrence we were cleaned the house from volcanic ash.

although the situation began better in our area, but other areas is still in bad condition. Many areas affected by the hot clouds, cold lava flood and others.

FLOOD

flood is an overflow of an expanse of water that submerges land. Flooding is the temporary covering by water of land not normally covered by water. Floods can occur from the volume of water in the body of water, like rivers or lakes, which overflow or break level, with the result that some of the water out of the limits of normal. Floods can be caused by the absence of good drainage in dense settlements located in the lowlands such as in Jakarta
